Abrimos os túneis em dias alternados durante o período de floração. O primeiro dia abrimos o túnel n°1 e fechamos o n°2, no dia seguinte fazemos o contrário. É importante abrir os túneis bem cedo pela manhã pois os insetos começam o trabalho deles cedo durante o verão, da mesma forma é preciso fechar os túneis bem tarde, quando já não há mais barulhos na horta. Com esse método constatamos um menor número de flores femininas polinizadas e consequentemente o número de frutos.
