        "Today, genetically engineered plants globally cover an agricultural area equivalent to that of Western Europe. Since 2001, it has been known that the ancient maize collections of Mexico, cradle of this culture, are contaminated by GMO maize imported from the United States. These GMOs that they want to impose on us will in no way solve famine and malnutrition, or diseases of plants and humans. On the contrary, they are a danger to the environment and to health. We also know, at the agronomic level, that most plant diseases are created today by industrial agriculture. The monocultures currently practiced by extremely simplified agrarian systems are causing irreversible genetic erosion, leading to future famines. They are an insult to the boundless ingenuity of generations of peasants who, thanks to them, have been able to survive. The monopoly of agribusiness in a standardized and globalized market caused the destruction of these millennial agrarian systems which had provided food for generations."

Tādas sistēmas ir apvainojums zemnieku paaudzēm ilgi apliecinātajai, izdzīvotspējīgajai atjautībai. Agrouzņēmumu monopols (standartizēta globālā tirgus ietvaros) izraisījis tūkstošiem gadu seno, neskaitāmas paaudzes barojušo agrāro sistēmu sabrukumu."
