Celery seeds can germinate for up to eight years. Sometimes this can be extended to ten years or even longer. This can be further prolonged by storage in a freezer. One gram contains around 2000 seeds.
As sementes de aipo têm uma capacidade germinativa de oito anos, que pode às vezes se prolongar até 10 anos ou mais. Essa duração pode ser prolongada por uma conservação a baixa temperatura. Um grama de sementes contém em torno de 200 sementes. A germinação das sementes de aipo pode ser caprichosa, parece que elas têm uma certa dormência.

Always include a label with the name of the variety, the species and the year in the bag as writing on the bag can be rubbed off.
Colocamos sempre uma etiqueta com o nome da espécie, da variedade e o ano de colheita dentro do pacotinho, pois acontece as vezes que a inscrição fora do pacote se apague.

Seeds should be harvested when most of the primary umbels start to turn brown. When they are mature, the seeds fall to the ground. If the weather is windy or rainy, harvest them before they are completely mature.
As sementes caem no chão logo que estão maduras, por isso é importante cuidar e colhê-las antes que estejam totalmente maduras, sobretudo quando há vento.
