Fennel seeds have a germination capacity of four years. Sometimes this can be extended to seven years. This will be further prolonged by storing the seeds in the freezer. One gram contains around 300 seeds.

Por fim, é preciso passar as sementes no vento, ou seja, assoprar para eliminar as últimas sujeiras leves. Temos sempre que colocar uma etiqueta com o nome da espécie, da variedade e do ano de colheita dentro do pacotinho, pois as vezes acontece que a inscrição do lado de fora se apague.
