With this method, the number of female flowers that are pollinated and thus the number of fruits decrease. Nevertheless, nature is very generous and the gardener will collect plenty of seeds for the years to come.
Sem caixinhas de mamangavas, cultivamos em um túnel coberto uma variedade de uma espécie e em um outro túnel coberto uma outra variedade da mesma espécie. Abrimos os túneis em dias alternados durante o período de floração. O primeiro dia abrimos o túnel n°1 e fechamos o n°2, no dia seguinte fazemos o contrário. É importante abrir os túneis bem cedo pela manhã pois os insetos começam o trabalho deles cedo durante o verão, da mesma forma é preciso fechar os túneis bem tarde, quando já não há mais barulhos na horta. Com esse método constatamos um menor número de flores femininas polinizadas e consequentemente o número de frutos. Portanto, a natureza é tão generosa que mesmo assim o agricultor irá colher a quantidade de sementes necessária para os anos seguintes.
