This site is the natural extension of the films. The sale of the DVDs is used to finance the uploading, hosting of the site and videos, the translations and the further development of the project. Our goal is simple, obvious and ambitious: to enable everyone, in all countries of the world, to learn how to produce seeds from local open-pollinated varieties, to guarantee a healthy diet and maintain the biodiversity of vegetable crops.

In Europe extremely restrictive legislation obliges seed producers to register their varieties in an official catalogue which imposes very strict selection criteria. In France, for example, seeds authorized for sale must be listed in the official SEMAE (formerly GNIS) catalogue. This system only reinforces the domination and near-monopoly of large seed companies like Bayer/Monsanto. Failure to comply with this rule has, for example, resulted in years of lawsuits against the Kokopelli association which markets seeds produced by a network of seed producers, most of which are not listed in the official catalogue.
Na Europa, uma legislação extremamente restritiva obriga os produtores de sementes à inscrever suas variedades em um catálogo oficial que impõe critérios muito rígidos de seleção. Na França, por exemplo, as sementes autorizadas à venda devem estar inscritas no catálogo oficial do SEMAE (antigo GNIS) : é o monopólio das grandes empresas de sementes como Monsanto. A associação Kokopelli que comercializa sementes de uma rede de produtores de sementes não inscritas no catálogo oficial, sofreu vários processos nos últimos anos por ter desrespeitado essa regra.
